Q :

Hi,thank u for the opportunity to talk over here, I actually had a DCIS case last april which i discovered early thank God and overwent a partial mastectomy than after that i had 15 sessions of radiotherapy didn’t need chemotherapy. What worries me is what if i have cancer somewhere else in my body? How do I know that? I mean they detected the dcis cz i made my yearly mamo and echo but what about t the whole body? Especially that doctors didn ask for pet scan. IIs there a need for pet scan can a blood test show or mention if we have cancer somewhere in our body? Thank u for ur time

There is nothing scary, DCIS doesn’t spread over other parts of the body because it’s discovered very early.
You have to do the usual check-up, echography and mammography, as requested by your DR.
No need for pet-scan
