Dr. Charles Maalouf is a reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgeon at NBCC. His education, experience, and continuous research on the subject of breast care and breast reconstruction makes him a truly essential member of NBCC’s multidisciplinary medical team.
After finishing his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the American University of Beirut, Dr. Maalouf then pursued his General Medicine Degree at the University of Balamand and completed both his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery Residency Program at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center (SGHUMC).
His considerable surgical experience spans across several continents. He first began his Fellowship in Microsurgery and Breast Reconstructive Surgery at Montreal University Hospital Center in Canada from 2015-2017 and later completed a Fellowship in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at LaClinic in Montreux, Switzerland in 2017. Moreover, he has been the Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at SGHUMC since 2017.
Dr. Charles Maalouf has been prominently active in promoting breast care awareness and becoming a part of multidisciplinary teams. He was one of the principal organizers of the Breast Journal Club at Montreal University Hospital Center. This club was created to organize interdisciplinary meetings between plastic surgeons, general surgeons, and radiation oncologists to discuss the latest issues concerning breast care. His dedication towards breast care is also evident in his participation in the planning and organization of “Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day” in Montreal.
