Dr. Georges El Hachem is a devoted medical oncologist at NBCC and he brings with him a wealth of professional experience as a member of numerous multidisciplinary oncology teams in Belgium and Lebanon.

After completing two diplomas from the Saint George Hospital University Medical Center, one in Internal Medicine and another in Hematology and Medical Oncology, Dr. El Hachem continued his training in medical oncology at Institut Jules Bordet and Ersame University Hospital at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium, as well as at Paris Sud University, Paris, France. He was sub-specialized in Breast Cancer and Gynecological Malignancies and was recognized as the Best Fellow in the year 2017-2018 at ULB.

Since November 2018, Dr. El Hachem has been working as an oncologist at numerous hospitals in Lebanon. He is engaged as a full-time Hematologist and Medical Oncologist at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center (SGHUMC) and is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Balamand. He works as a part-time Medical Oncologist at the Karantina Governmental Hospital, Rosary Hospital, and the Notre Dame University Hospital. He is also a member of numerous scientific organizations including the Breast Cancer Academy (with the collaboration of the European Institute of Oncology, Milano, Italy), European School of Oncology, European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Lebanese Society of Medical Oncology (LSMO) and Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO – in collaboration with MD Anderson Cancer Center) where he is designed as Ambassador of Belgium in the SOHO since 2017.

Among his varied research interests, Dr. El Hachem has published several articles on the most recent technology and research on breast cancer, treatment options, and the importance of the continuum of cancer care.
